Tajikistan activates three hydropower items at nation’s Kayrakkum HPP

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 9. Official
commissioning of three hydropower items has taken place on the
Kayrakkum hydroelectric energy plant (HPP) in Tajikistan’s Sughd
area, following renovations, Development studies.

The station’s recommissioning was inaugurated by President
Emomali Rahmon. Based on the press service of the president,
the hydroelectric station, which consists of six items, noticed its
final unit, with a designed capability of 21 MW, come on-line in 1957.
Over 68 years of operation, the items and different key gear have
turn into outdated.

Since 2019, below President Rahmon’s initiative, renovation work
has been underway. The overhaul of hydroelectric items No. 4, 5,
and 6 took over 5 years, with every unit’s capability growing
from 19 MW to 29 MW.

Upon full completion of this mission and the commissioning of
remaining items, scheduled by 2026, the common annual electrical energy
manufacturing on the Kayrakkum HPP is predicted to extend from 580
million kWh to 850 million kWh.
