DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 9. Official
commissioning of three hydropower items has taken place on the
Kayrakkum hydroelectric energy plant (HPP) in Tajikistan’s Sughd
area, following renovations, Development studies.
The station’s recommissioning was inaugurated by President
Emomali Rahmon. Based on the press service of the president,
the hydroelectric station, which consists of six items, noticed its
final unit, with a designed capability of 21 MW, come on-line in 1957.
Over 68 years of operation, the items and different key gear have
turn into outdated.
Since 2019, below President Rahmon’s initiative, renovation work
has been underway. The overhaul of hydroelectric items No. 4, 5,
and 6 took over 5 years, with every unit’s capability growing
from 19 MW to 29 MW.
As a part of the renovation mission, key gear within the machine
corridor has been changed, together with the turbine management system,
transformers, excitation programs, the stress water equipment, and
the hydro unit management system. Six 40 MW transformers and different
main elements, imported from European international locations, have been
put in.
Moreover, an SF6 gas-insulated switchgear has changed the
open air 220/110 kV switchgear. The mission additionally included
strengthening the station’s dam, finishing an evaluation of the
outdated gear on unit No. 2, and renovating 5 overhead
cranes.
Present work continues on assembling elements for hydro unit No. 3,
repairing the bridge over the higher degree of the station, and
reconstructing different elements of the machine corridor.
Upon full completion of this mission and the commissioning of
remaining items, scheduled by 2026, the common annual electrical energy
manufacturing on the Kayrakkum HPP is predicted to extend from 580
million kWh to 850 million kWh.
