IsDB, Uzbekistan sign landmark education project with GPE grant support

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 13. The Islamic
Growth Financial institution (IsDB), supported by a serious grant from the International
Partnership for Training (GPE), has signed a landmark schooling
mission financing settlement with the Authorities of Uzbekistan aimed
at considerably enhancing the standard, inclusiveness, and
effectivity of the nation’s preschool and college schooling system,

Throughout the ceremony, IsDB President, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser
signed the settlement with H.E. Dr. Khilola Umarova, Minister of
Preschool and Faculty Training of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The

Initiative (HCI) Convention in Riyadh and was attended by Ms. Laura
Frigenti, CEO of the International Partnership for Training (GPE).

The Good Training Program, permitted by the IsDB and GPE Boards
on 15 December 2024 and 18 October 2023 respectively, marks IsDB’s
largest funding in Uzbekistan’s schooling sector up to now. The
complete mission price is US$220.25 million, with US$160.25 million
financed by IsDB, a US$40 million grant from GPE, and a US$20
million contribution from the Authorities of Uzbekistan.

This mission is absolutely aligned with Uzbekistan’s nationwide
schooling methods and goals to enhance the standard and effectivity
of the schooling system and can contribute to the attainment of
the SDG-4. The mission additionally aligns with Pillar 2, “Inclusive Human
Capital Growth” of the IsDB Strategic Realignment
2023-2025.

finalization of implementation agreements with UNICEF and
UNESCO.
