83.5% of current graduates employed in 2023

In 2023, 83.5% of current graduates within the EU have been employed, marking a rise of 1.1 share level (pp) in contrast with 2022 (82.4%). Latest graduates are people aged 20-34, who accomplished their research inside the previous 1 to three years at medium or tertiary schooling ranges.

Over the previous 10 years, there was a rise within the employment price of current graduates. In 2013, the speed was 74.3% and has been rising steadily since then. The exception was the pandemic-affected 2020 (78.7%), when a lower of two.3 pp was noticed in contrast with 2019 (81.0%).

In 2023, there was a 9.6 pp hole within the employment price of current graduates with  tertiary academic attainment (87.7%) in contrast with these with medium schooling (78.1%).

Highest employment price of current graduates in Malta

The general employment price of current graduates was 80% or greater in 22 EU international locations. Malta led with 95.8%, adopted by the Netherlands (93.2%) and Germany (91.5%).

The bottom employment charges have been recorded in Italy (67.5%), Greece (72.3%) and Romania (74.8%).

Methodological notes

  • Latest graduates: folks aged 20-34, who had graduated inside the previous 1 to three years at higher secondary, post-secondary non-tertiary and tertiary schooling (Worldwide customary classification of schooling (ISCED) ranges 3-8).
  • Medium schooling refers to higher secondary or post-secondary non-tertiary schooling, ISCED ranges 3 and 4, whereas tertiary schooling refers to ISCED ranges 5-8.
  • 2014 and 2021: breaks in collection.
